In the Allegheny Mountains of Bath County Virginia there is an elegant old resort that dates back to 1766. The sprawling complex is constantly being updated and/or renovated to suit the wants and needs of today's guests. Often times when something is improved the old gets swept under the carpet so to speak.
About 7 years ago they built a completely new equestrian complex and stables. The old stables on the other end of town are now left to the elements and some parts are storage for the vehicles of the resorts engineering dept.

I think this is a blacksmith shop
The other interesting feature I discovered is an abandoned penthouse sweet. It appears that at some point the top floor of the main tower (visible as the semi circle window at the top of the tower right below the clock face) was a luxury sweet. It is now used for storage and about half the space is a aux. hot water tank.
