I read that thousands of years ago the Washoe would be in fear of creatures called water babies. In fact they were said to be powerful causing death or illness. If you put this lore together with the strange lights emerging out of Lake Tahoe it is quite possible that the water babies may have been a race of technological beings ones that might even giving off unexplained lights.
