*** Attention *** --- I want to preface this with the fact that
this story was our first trip to the school, On our second the
Danvers Police politely asked us to leave by saying "Get the hell
out of here before you get yourselves killed" So be forwarned ---
The location of our last exploration wasn't abandoned, really. It
was in the middle of renovation, turning the historical 20?s era
building into a more contemporary institution of learning.

entered the building without any trouble, mostly due to the giant
holes smashed into the sides of the building for construction
equipment to enter. The sounds of a baseball game in the
crowded park next to the building faded as we went deeper into
the school. We walked up a flight of stairs to discover deserted
hallways covered with a thin coating of concrete dust.

tags swung open as we passed them. We ventured in
and out of old classrooms, our footprints leaving a
winding path in the residue. We noticed some floors
were still somewhat intact while others were
completely ripped apart, with no evidence of where
classrooms once stood. These floors were usually
roped off with caution tape, because only one board
separated you from falling through to the next level.
The gym provided us with not one, not two but three
rope swings, which made us think of our friends at
Northville Tunnels. We wandered through different
floors and hallways, stopping in random
rooms to look out the window or to comment on the random
things left behind. We finally found the ladder to the roof,
which was in a room painted an obnoxious shade of pink.
The roof had an excellent view of the town and the traffic
that was speeding by below us, not bothering to notice two
people spending their Saturday afternoon relaxing four
stories above them. After taking in the view, we went back in
to the building for one last walk around. We'll have to do a
live infiltration when the construction is done to see how it all
came out.
