Not sure how many cases I have heard about a woman in black in multiple countries including the US but this legend in the UK has been around for awhile. All spirits are is energy and some of it can be conscious. Things happen in our historical timeline which lead to death and often lead to a haunting that sticks around for years to come. I have seen black ghosts I think of them as shadows just more solid and 3d in appearance.
