You know, Either im getting older or that hill is getting steeper, 5
people , Each with a different reason to be there. Myself, I went to
photograph some pencil drawings I saw on the wall near the J ward
tunnel entrance. Five weird little drawings with a tag at the end that
said " for Steven " . We use the usual grappling hook method and
climbed up the walls like spiderman. NOT!!!, just kidding. But the
salem evening news seems to think so, Hell why not let people think
we go in like batman. Once in it was camera set up time. Everyone
has such nice camera's, I kinda feel left out with my olympus
camedia. Its got no special attachments, no neat knobs. But I still
takes a pretty good pic for 1.3 megapixels. This was KB's first time
in. I felt really good to be a part of that. After all he's done exploring
wise, It felt good that he finally got to see the inside
Tonight I sat in my favorite spot and just pondered
the fact that soon this building will be a pile of rubble.
I got a little misty. I've spent the last 8 or so years
coming here, and soon it wont be here for me or
anyone. I had to take some time to reflect on how
that building has changed me and my direction in life.
It was a somber and happy moment all at once. We
bounce around to all the better known area's for
massive photo shoots, Then DSIA comes up with the
wonderful idea. Lets check out the subtunnels. In one
word GROSS. the floor of the subtunnel is a mash of
mud and asbestos. Rust and nastiness. I kept saying "
what the hell am I standing on ? " and " this is sooooo
f*ckin gross " Being the only one with a hazmat
breather on I did'nt get to enjoy the wonderful smell
Finally I got my chance to test my monkey skills and climb to the
top and touch one of the spires. Everytime I go , I try to say
goodbye again. I never know if it will be my last time, and what will
I do when its gone. Going to the same old haunts can be boring.
But we all have that one place we always go back to because we
love it so much. What will I do when its gone
