I am diggin into the archives. I am not sure why because I have tonnes of new stuff to post but I am too busy (lazy) to get the photos done. Yesterday I chose yet again to explore rather than work on photos so I am no closer to haveing new content lol. This is my contribution to showing my noob photos. Not that I am a great photographer lol

haha! hey i think we've all chosen a lot of things to do than work on our photos, especially exploring more!
interesting place and a descent set. assuming it was really dark due to all of the flash work? or maybe you didnt have a tripod to do long exposures with the light available?
either way, sucks about the fire damage.....and that must be one of the more interesting tags underneath the maternity wing sign.
kill the babies *Sparta* , just saying.

The basement and first 2 floors were boarded and very dark so light painting would have been the only option which was something that very foreign to me at the time.
I still do a lot of flash work because here there aren't really any other explorers so when I get into a location my goal is to document as much as I can as quickly as I can. At least now I use diffusers and I use external flashes that work much better than the popup on a point and shoot. Sometimes I may only get one shot at the building then it's sealed up again or in this case there was already a date with the wrecking ball.
In the past couple years I have gotten into trying to produce better results with my photography. I do a lot more long exposures, primarily at locations that I feel I have shot enough in the documentary style, and now I can play around more and try to get some nice shots.
The place had some interesting graffiti to say the least.
